Joshua Michael Brown has performed frequently in the D.C. metropolitan area in venues such as the Kennedy Center, the Strathmore, Atlas Performing Arts Center, and Washington National Cathedral. Mr. Brown's opera roles include Il Rè in Handel's Ariodante, Enrico in Donizetti's Lucia, and Papageno in Mozart's Die Zauberflote with the Hub Opera Ensemble; The Duke of Plaza-Toro in The Gondoliers with the Washington Savoyards; and Valentin in Faust with Loudoun Lyric Opera. In addition to opera, Mr. Brown has performed in multiple recitals in the area for such organizations as the Arts Club of Washington, the Montpelier Classical Recital Series, the Catholic University of America, and the University of Maryland. Mr. Brown is a sought after professional choral musician/soloist for top shelf Washington D.C. groups such as the Washington Bach Consort, Cathedral Choral Society, Washington National Cathedral Choir, Choralis, and Cathedra. He has also been the bass/baritone soloist in multiple Bach cantatas, sacred choral works by Mozart, C.P.E Bach, Fauré, Beethoven, Haydn, and Jongen. Mr. Brown studied music education and voice at James Madison University, and voice privately with Luciano Roberti at the Teatro Comunale in Florence, Italy. In addition to performing, Mr. Brown serves as Director of Music at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Falls Church, Virginia."
