  • Matt Stevens, Trumpet

    Richmond-based trumpet player Matt Stevens has been a staple of the Richmond arts scene for over 20 years. He appears with many diverse groups, performing throughout central Virginia in a variety of venues. Matt has served as Principal Trumpet with the Richmond Philharmonic for most of his time in Richmond and has been featured with the RPO on several occasions, most recently performing Aaron Copland’s “Quiet City” during the Spring Concert of 2023. He also regularly performs in churches in the area, either as a soloist or with the Commonwealth Brass, a hometown brass quintet he co-founded. Matt is a graduate of Alderson Broaddus University, where he studied with Dr. Timothy DeWitt, who was a product of the famous Chicago School teacher Charlie Geyer. When not performing, Matt is a senior IT professional who works at the United Network for Organ Sharing.

  • Jack Price, Trumpet

    A Richmond freelance trumpet player, Jack Price began his music career in the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and continued as a freelance player in the New York City Metro Area. He earned a Bachelor of Music from Appalachian State University and is a former pupil of Roy Stevens, Elmer White, and Pat Garnett. Jack performs with the Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra, Richmond Pops Band, and theater productions at Swift Creek Mill, Fort Lee Theater, and The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. He is a frequent soloist at his home church, Chester United Methodist Church, and other churches in Greater Richmond. By day, Jack is a marketing writer and business development advisor.
