The Richmond Philharmonic: MARS PROJECT Virtual Performance

Members of the Richmond Philharmonic along with music director Peter Wilson came together virtually during the pandemic of 2020-21 to perform the opening movement from Gustav Holst’s “The Planets” in what they called their MARS PROJECT — a virtual war against COVID-19 as well as a tribute to the successful NASA Mars Mission launched in 2020, which landed on the Red Planet in 2021 and included the rover “Perseverance” and the helicopter “Ingenuity.” The RPO looks forward to returning to the concert stage in November 2021 with its new season “Ode to Joy!”
